Iranian-born Professor Nasser David Khalili is custodian of the world’s largest private collection of Islamic art. The Arts of Islam is a major exhibition consisting of more than 350 rare and beautiful pieces of Islamic art from the Khalili Collection, including illuminated manuscripts and Qur'ans, colourful ceramics and enamelled objects, lustre-painted glass, lacquerware and finely woven textiles. It illustrates the breadth of artistic achievement in the Islamic world from early Islam in the 7th century to the early 20th century. On display in Sydney only.
