Adventures in Asia TourIn this core activity for years K-6 in the Asian Gallery Volunteer Guides engage small groups of up to ten students through looking, story-telling, role-playing and practical activities. During their Adventures students will: - Imaginatively explore destinations from the realms of the Hindu gods to a Buddhist temple, from an ancient Chinese tomb to the emperor’s palace, from a small Japanese tea room to a samurai’s castle
- Recognise a variety of materials and techniques including ceramics, ink painting, stone sculpture, lacquer and metal work, textiles and prints
- Hear stories and myths which bring to life religious beliefs and traditions
- Identify symbols and discover their meanings
- Explore links between customs and traditions in Australian and Asian families and communities
- Recognise and respect Asia's contribution to world culture
